So Marc received an offer for an internship in the auditing department at a local company. He went on Friday to take the required drug test by giving a urine sample. This same morning he went running and therefore drank approx. 2 liters before the test. He gives a sample and the drug test tech. tells him that his urine is too diluted and that he will have to give another sample. He tells Marc that he can either wait until he has to go again, or come back. Because Marc is on his lunch break he leaves and returns about 4:00 after he gets off of work. FAILED. By leaving the drug testing sight without giving another sample, he immediately fails the drug test. Yesterday the company withdrew their offer because Marc left the sight.
Marc double checked all of the documents he was given (the offer, the drug testing information, etc.) NOWHERE does it say that
1. We would prefer your urine not to be diluted, and
2. If you leave the test sight and your urine was too diluted you fail.
OUTRAGEOUS!!! right?!?!
He was pretty disappointed and annoyed last night. It is one thing to be given the information, not read it, and then fail because you did not read the fine print. THERE WAS NO FINE PRINT!
Well at least he has his old job still. He told his boss the story and they hadn't offered anyone his position, so at least he still has a job.

So know that feeling as it reminds me of when Ben was testing for police departments and would get so close and then get rejected for stupid things-but now he graduates law school in December, so not so bad of an ending after all:)
Are you serious? That is outrageous!
that's totally lame. I wonder if they would be willing to accept a hair sample, since its more accutrate and can detect long term use. (our company uses it) If you want the info let me know. I'm sorry, that totally sucks.
What a bummer! We've had stupid stuff like this happen to us before too. Hang in there. Something better for your family is out there. Be thankful he still has his old job. :)
I still hate this story!!! I told Matt about it last night and he is pretty peeved as well.

wow! that is crazy/really annoying. i thought you were going to say they found something in his urine (don't know if you watch seinfeld but there's the episode where elaine eats poppy seed muffins and then fails because of opiate in her urine). sorry though, that's a big bummer.
