so the power went out at our place about 3 weeks ago. it was only out for 6 hours or so, but there must have been a surge or something because when we woke up the computer was jacked. luckily it was somewhat new, and we had an extended warranty through best buy. unluckily the last time we saved our pictures/videos/documents/music to our external hard drive was JANUARY.
so i am trying to do Christmas presents with some pictures of the year, and we have almost none.
so if you have any pictures with our little family from january 2009-november 2009, please e-mail them to me.

Yes a Mac is a great machine but it is still susceptible to power surges and doesn't manage them any better than a PC. You can set your PC to do nightly backups to an external drive but that would take for thought before a problem occurs. I've been there done that myself and it is truly depressing to loose your pictures.

it was great to see you in sacramento. hopefully you weren't paying too much attention to my unruly children. Congrats on your pending arrival!
Power surges don't happen to cool people that own macs.
